Adopting TXpups: Introducing a New Weekly Feature

We’re always on the lookout for opportunities to help, and we’re suckers for pups with a cute face. Each week, we’ll feature a dog from local shelter Austin Pets Alive in our new weekly column, with a link to their profile, on Sundays. These dogs are available for adoption at APA if you’re local; if you’re not an Austinite but still want to help, APA has an online donation system and an option to sponsor a specific animal, like our pet of the week. To kick off our new column, “Adopting TXpups”, we’re featuring a senior pup, in honor of Comet’s recent birthday. This, is Izzy.

Izzy is an absolutely adorable twelve year old labrador/retriever mix. She’s a relaxed dog who’s fine with children and some cats, but needs to be a single dog.

Izzy is in training with APA’s Canine Good Citizen program. A Capricorn babe, she’s fated to be loyal, which holds true. This sweet pup seeks a human that’ll help her get used to her new home and enjoy the rest of her playful years.

“Come meet Izzy,” her APA profile states. “You two probably need each other more than either of you yet realize.”
